VXR or VXR AGS?
Same engine, same basic equipment, so the question is only the gearbox. Pick the VXR for the lowest price. Pick the VXR AGS if you spend a lot of time in stop-and-go traffic and want to skip the clutch.
VXR AGS or VXL AGS?
The drive is identical. The VXL AGS adds the touchscreen, Bluetooth, mirror indicators and confirmed ABS. If you do not need those, the VXR AGS gives you the same drivetrain for less.

Gearbox
Manual or AGS: which Alto should you pick?
AGS is a normal manual gearbox with an electronic clutch, so you never touch a clutch pedal. In Lahore's stop-and-go traffic that is a real relief, and it costs less to maintain than a torque-converter automatic or a CVT.
The trade-off is shift feel. AGS pauses briefly between gears, which is noticeable if you are used to a CVT. The best test is to drive an AGS Alto in actual traffic, not on an empty road, before you commit.
